Volunteers Make all the Difference

Some of the best things in life are free, right?  Well, that applies to running a campaign, as well.

As you look over your event calendar, day planner, check list, grocery list or any list, you may feel like there is no end.  Take a deep breath and call in some help.

Volunteers are, by definition, free labor and willing labor.  Maybe not always enthusiastic, but willing.  Learn to delegate to these people.  Volunteers come as friends, family, neighbors, people who share the same interests and want to achieve the same goal.

These helpers make excellent door-to-door salespeople.  Give them a stack of your palm cards, note pads, maybe some yard signs and make sure they are well prepped on what you want them to present.  It is important that they don’t show up at a door and give false facts, make empty promises or just show up with nothing to say at all.

When it is time to put out yard signs, give them a “paper route” to follow.  When you have to prepare for a fair, give them tables to set-up.  Give them something to do.

The point is, you need help and the first step is…well, you get it.
